Happy Anniversary!

Today is our wedding anniversary! Twelve years ago we stood in front of God and our families and made a covenant to love, honor and respect each other for the rest of our lives. We practically ran down the aisle afterwards we were so excited about beginning our adventure together!

We've had lots of excitement along the way. Lots of joys, some sorrows, some difficult times but mostly good. There is no one I'd rather have spent the past twelve years with. Mr P is my best friend. These years have been the best years of my life and I know the best is still yet to come!

Tonight we are all going out to the Cheese Cake Factory. The boys were baffled that they had to wear Sunday clothes (a golf shirt, khaki shorts and sandals)- so I expressed what a special occasion this is. They were all on board once I told them we would even order dessert! We will walk around the out side mall. (I love that the kids can bounce along in front while we stroll, hold hands and gaze into each others eyes!) Later, we will pull out our wedding album and look at all of the pictures. My youngest will wonder why she was not invited to such a fun celebration!

Dear God,
Bless our marriage with long and loving years. Help us seek Your will for life, through happy days and tears. Remind us to be quick to say, I'm sorry, please forgive. Lets be friends and make today beautiful to live! We know our love will stay alive- Your Word says this is true.....If we join our hearts together and lift them up to You! In Jesus Name, Amen.

This prayer has been on our kitchen wall for our entire marriage.

These verses were read at our wedding and are read at lots of weddings to teach us about true love. I did not know then, but now know how difficult at times this can be. Perhaps our marriage is meant to shape our characters into what God has planned.

1Corinthians 13:4-7
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
